Overnight Steel Cut Oats in a Crockpot

From Alton Brown Food Network

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup dried figs
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half

Directions

In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients and set to low heat. Cover and let cook for 8 to 9 hours.
Stir and remove to serving bowls. This method works best if started before you go to bed. This way your oatmeal will be finished by morning.

Jiaozi for a Crowd

I'm pretty lucky when it comes to guessing how much jiaozi to make for a crowd, but I thought it might be okay to document it, cause last night we got it just right.

Jiaozi for a Crowd (19)

1/2 head nappa cabbage
1 bag spinach
2 bunches of onion
3 chunks of ginger
2 pounds ground pork
3 packs wonton wrappers

Cook 5 cups of rice.
